Coventry based Remploy Automotive, which is part of a leading UK provider of employment opportunities for people with disabilities and long term health conditions, said on Thursday it is supplying record volumes of sub assemblies and aftermarket products to Ford’s Premier Automotive Group (PAG), which includes Land Rover and Jaguar manufacturing and parts distribution operations here.

PAG’s latest contract award to Remploy is for the supply of aftermarket wheels and tyres for the Land Rover Freelander 2 and Range Rover models.
Remploy is co-ordinating the procurement and assembly of several alloy wheel and tyre variants, optionally fitted with tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) valves. The wheel and tyre assemblies are then heat shrinked, packed and labelled before being distributed to several locations throughout the UK. The supplier has invested in high-tech wrapping machinery and trained a dedicated team of workers to meet production targets.
Almost half a million parts are now being produced and supplied to PAG each year, including thermostat and hose assemblies, carbon canisters, fuel filters, brake vacuum pumps, body and engine dampers, water pumps and coolers, climate control mechanisms, sensors, power-assisted steering reservoirs and exhaust vacuum pumps.
These are fitted to a variety of PAG models, including Land Rover’s Range Rover, Discovery, Freelander and Defender models, and Jaguar’s XJ, S and X Type, along with the new XK luxury sports car.
A Ford Q1 supplier, Remploy Automotive said it is regarded as a world leader in the development and use of intelligent PC-driven jigs for the error-proof production of critical assemblies, which general manager Stuart Walder believes underpins the success of the business.
“We’ve been a key supplier to PAG for several years, and this year have been awarded two 100% supplier performance development ratings,” said Walder. “These are difficult to achieve but underline our determination that quality should be at the heart of everything we do.”
Remply operates from a number of factories throughout the UK. With turnover in excess of GBP55m, it supplies several major manufacturers, including Ford, PAG, Honda and BMW. Its four business streams specialise in original equipment manufacture, aftermarket products, special vehicles and automotive textiles.
