PSA’s recall of its Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1 models will concentrate on vehicles of roughly the same age as those affected by Toyota’s eight-model European recall that includes the Aygo built in the same Czech Republic plant.
The PSA recall affects only manual and automated manual petrol engine versions and these account for only 10% of the 107 and C1 modes on the roads of Europe, or 97,000 units. Of that tally, about 6,700 models are here in the UK.

Toyota is recalling all Aygo models built between February 2005 and August 2009.
Despite PSA insisting only 10% of its vehicles need to be recalled, the French automaker noted the age of the models for scrutiny was roughly in line with those of Toyota.
“We launched those cars in the UK in 2005, so it is more or less the same time frame,” a PSA UK spokesman told just-auto.
It was “too early” to gauge customer reaction but PSA was proceeding with the logistics of the recall.

Toyota Europe today announced the same reinforcing bar fix for the gas as promised earlier for North America. First part shipments begin arriving in Europe next week and up to 1.8m vehicles could be affected.
PSA will undertake its own repairs, as is customary with shared model lines. The Europe-only 107/C1/Aygo models are all much alike with brand distinction by different nose and tail styling and detail trim and equipment variations.
