The Malaysian car manufacturer Proton claims that it is to become the first to sell cars at any motor racing circuit in the UK.
A sales facility for the Proton Satria GTi (with ‘Lotus ride and handling’) and other models is being created at Silverstone to support the Proton Racing Experience, which is expected to provide up to 30,000 drivers with race school tuition this year.
Operated by Octagon Motorsports, the Silverstone racing school will use a fleet of Satria GTi’s equipped with roll cages and safety equipment to give motorsport enthusiasts the experience of driving in the wheel tracks of today’s F1 stars.
The Proton Racing Experience was launched at the Autosport International Show at the NEC last week by Paul O’Brien, Group Retail Director of Octagon Motorsports (left), and Simon Park, General Manager of Customer Acquisition at Proton Cars (UK) Ltd.
