Online retailer of ex-fleet cars carsite.co.uk has announced the appointment of Sir Trevor Chinn as chairman. He is also an investor in the company.

Chinn is well known in the UK car retail sector having had a long career with Lex.
He is currently an adviser to CVC Capital Partners and Chairman of ITIS plc and Streetcar.
Chinn said: “Carsite.co.uk is at the forefront of a dynamic shift in the used car market from forecourt to online. The developing landscape and technological capabilities of the internet continue to create exciting new business opportunities for this sector.

Carsite says it experienced strong growth in 2009, with sales up 109% on the previous year and site visits also up 93% compared with the same period in 2008.
