Nissan has promoted three British executives to new “crucial roles” within the company.

Trevor Mann, head of manufacturing, supply chain management, production engineering and purchasing for Europe at Nissan International will now head global supply chain management and the operating committee for Africa, the Middle East and India.

Mann helped establish the Sunderland plant in 1985 as a team leader, ahead of the start of Bluebird [Stanza-based] production a year later. In 2010 the factory became the first UK car plant to make over 400,000 vehicles in a year.

Jerry Hardcastle, currently head of vehicle design and development at the automaker’s technical centre for Europe in Cranfield, is now global chief marketability engineer and also global general manager of the customer oriented engineering department there, remaining based in Cranfield.

Hardcastle’s 24 years working in the auto industry includes design and development posts at Austin Rover and Nissan.

Hardcastle’s current position heading vehicle design & development at NTCE will be taken by David Moss, currently director, body and exterior engineering, also based in Cranfield.
