The B-segment Cube was originally launched as a domestic-market-only model in Japan over a decade ago but is now being exported. It will also be sold in the US.

The London Cube Store is a retail space and exhibition centre by day and an event centre at night and will host a six-week season of design, art, music, fashion and film themed experiences, the automaker said on Monday.

Over 15 events will be staged between now and 23 December, “hosted by internationally acclaimed creative figures who have made their mark in the world of design, architecture and film including Tony Kaye and Alfred Malmros”.

During the day, the venue will feature the brand’s first ever ‘pop-up store’ featuring Parisian design emporium Colette which will sell a range of Cube-inspired products exclusively there.

Nissan said potential buyers will be able to apply via a  website tickets to the Cube Store’s evening events. Adding to the build-up to the official UK launch in January, Cubes will be driven around London with staff handing out cards for ‘VIP access’ to the website.

Nissan’s UK MD, Paul Willcox said: “The Cube is a unique new model and has an equally unique build up to its launch.”
