Following yesterday’s story on just-auto.com concerning Nissan UK adopting round the clock production, the company has today confirmed that it is considering 24-hour production at its Sunderland, UK plant.
The move, which would involve a 3-shift pattern, would cut costs and strengthen it’s bid to secure the £150m new Micra contract.

An announcement is scheduled for later this year on whether the car will be built at Sunderland or at another European plant. The weakness of the euro has been hampering Sunderland’s bid for the new small car.
