MG Rover may have gone bust in 2005 but its ‘original’ spare parts operation, XPart, established in 2001, is still going strong. It recently moved operations from Desford to Hinckley Commercial Estate.

The Hinckley facility was built seven years ago and gave XPart the opportunity to review workflows and maximise productivity.

Stocks of both MG Rover parts and all-makes workshop consumables are located more efficiently than in the original Desford warehouse, reducing staff travel time to and from the racks and reducing the space required to operate the business.  In partnership with UK transportation partner Norbert Dentressangle, the aftermarket supplier has been able to make its parts distribution process more efficient by combining and sharing loads with the shipper’s other customers nearby.

“We look forward to continually improving the supply of MG Rover original parts to our worldwide distribution network and AutoService centres in both the UK and mainland Europe,” XPart said in a statement.

XPart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Neovia Logistics Services, an automotive industry supply chain management company. As well as supplying original parts for the considerable number of MG Rover vehicles still on the road, worldwide, it operates a network of around 200 XPart AutoService centres across the UK and 500 in mainland Europe. The product range is currently around 30,000 parts for MG and Rover.
