MG Motor UK is to appoint up to 15 new dealers in the next few months as it introduces its MG6 sports fastback later this year.

There are currently 38 MG dealers plus six authorised repairers covering the UK, with the company in discussion with 25 prospective dealers.

“News of the MG6 created a huge amount of interest and there are a lot of people very interested in representing the MG brand and investing in dealerships,” said MG Motor UK franchise and dealer development manager David Martin.

“We are in talks with a number of interested parties and we are now in discussions to appoint an initial ten to 15 new dealers within the next few months.

The MG6 sports fastback will be the first all-new MG to be sold in Britain in 16 years. It was designed and engineered at the MG Birmingham site where final assembly of the car also takes place.
