Group Lotus has appointed Miguel Fragoso as engineering director. He will have overall responsibility for all aspects of engineering.
Fragoso will be based at the company’s headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk and will report to group CEO Jean-Marc Gales.

A chartered engineer and fellow of the institution of mechanical engineers, Fragoso has held a number of senior roles with the automotive industry, most recently as CEO of Millbrook Proving Ground where he grew and diversified Millbrook (initially built by GM’s Vauxhall) from a proving ground and test site into a complete vehicle engineering development centre.
Prior to the role at Millbrook, he held senior positions in engineering and corporate planning at General Motors in the UK, mainland Europe and Japan.
Gales said, “[Fragoso’s] background in the automotive industry in delivering vehicle programmes will assist in the delivery of our growth plans for the future.”
