Following a recent UK Society of Motor Manufacturers delegation to Russia, discussions between a potential local distributor have now started which could eventually see London taxis on the streets of Moscow.

The ‘black cab’ is also now on the streets of South Africa. The first 22 TXIIs are now operating in both Cape Town and Johannesburg and a further 42 vehicles are on the way from the UK.

The lucrative Middle East market has also opened up to the LTI Vehicles. Two custom-built TXIIs are currently being shipped to Kuwait for durability testing in hot dusty conditions and will then be taken to Dubai for extreme humidity testing.

After the tests are completed at the end of September importer MMG is expected to place orders for a “significant number” to operate in Kuwait and United Arab Emirate cities.
