Kia Motors (UK) is recalling 974 Sportage XS models produced up to 28 February 2005.
This is the result of a number of electronic stability programme (ESP) problems reported by customers world-wide.
In the UK, only one vehicle in customer’s hands is known to have been affected and there was no resulting loss of control.
Kia will upgrade the ESP control unit on affected cars to ensure the system is not activated when not required.
