A local authority in Warwickshire, in England’s West Midlands, has scaled back plans for a new town in the Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath area because it would have interfered with expansion aspirations of Gaydon based Jaguar Land Rover, according to local media reports.
The Stratford Herald said the council revised a controversial plan for 4,800 homes down to 3,000 “following a series of discussions between JLR, the council and the developers”.

Tata Motors owned JLR has a head office, design centre and test track at Gaydon and Aston Martin has a base and factory close by. Local authorities are rebuilding the M40 motorway junction adjacent to the automakers to expand its capacity – both firms have expanded so much that peak hour traffic heading for the sites tails back onto the motorway at peak times.
