Land Rover is to donate its one millionth Range Rover to UK military charity Help for Heroes for auction.
The milestone vehicle – an ‘Autobiography’ version – was built at the Solihull plant where Job One came off the line in June 1970.

The SUV was driven to London for handover to Help for Heroes followed by a convoy of heritage Range Rovers.
The presentation will take place at the Top Gear Live set at Earls Court in London today (5 November) where TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson – a Help for Heroes patron – will accept the vehicle on behalf of the charity.
“Land Rover is very proud to support the Help for Heroes charity by donating the one millionth Range Rover,” said Jaguar Land Rover managing director Phil Popham.
“The vehicle will be auctioned later this year and should raise valuable funds for the practical and direct provision of aid for wounded service people and their families.”
The Range Rover being donated is the highest-specification model currently available – the Vogue – valued at around GBP85,000 (US$138,000). Estimates suggest it will raise more than GBP100,000 for charity when auctioned.
“We’re delighted Land Rover has chosen to give Help for Heroes its millionth Range Rover,” said charity CEO and co-founder Bryn Parry.
“This is a real milestone in [the automaker’s] history and so a very special donation, made even more special by knowing the money raised from the auction of the car will be able to provide much needed funds to help our wounded heroes on their road to recovery.”
