Jaguar has temporarily suspended production of its XJ model at the UK Castle Bromwich plant due to an unspecified supply chain issue.

The automaker is declining to reveal what the nature of the supply difficulty is, but some component manufacture has stopped today with production due to restart by the end of next week.

“It is four days in total,” a Jaguar spokesman told just-auto. “We won’t be building XJs for just under a week.

“There are around 500 people working on XJ production and during this period, they will be redeployed to other areas of the plant, on maintenance or supporting production on other lines.”
