A pale yellow Thunderbird was made available for journalists to drive at last week#;s annual SMMT test day at the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire.
Although the Thunderbird has also featured in some UK car magazines, Ford UK says officially it has no plans to sell the car.
However, it is available through independent importers for about £44,000.
