Ford of Britain has announced two director-level marketing appointments, effective 1 April.

Mark Ovenden will become director marketing Ford of Britain, replacing Steve Hood, who joins Ford Retail, the car maker’s own dealer group, as director marketing and strategy.
Gary Whittam, commercial vehicle director, Ford of Britain, is retiring after 27 years with the company, and will be replaced by Steve Kimber. Whittam will remain with Ford until 1 June to help with the launch of the redesigned Transit model line.
Ovenden was previously Ford of Europe’s European small car brand manager, based at the Dunton research and development centre in Essex, UK. He was most recently responsible for the 2006 Fiesta and Fusion ‘facelift’ programmes.
Whittam joined Ford as a technician in 1978 and has worked in various commercial vehicle roles in Europe and the UK.
His successor, Kimber, was manager of Ford’s field operations and has more than 15 years of experience in a variety of sales and marketing positions with the automaker. He was most recently manager of the European CV marketing team and was also product and commercial vehicle business strategy manager.
