The new powerplant makes its UK debut in the Focus range next month alongside the 115PS original. It can accelerate the three-door Zetec version to 62mph (100km/h in 11.5 seconds on the way to a claimed 115mph top speed.


Fuel economy on the official EC combined cycle is 54.8mpg and the CO2 output is a class-leading 138g/km.


Prices will start at £13,445 for the three-door Focus hatchback TDCi with Zetec trim. Five doors, LX and Ghia trim are also available.
