Surinder Sharma has been appointed to the position of Diversity Director, Ford of Europe. He took up the appointment on 1 September.
He joins Ford from Littlewoods, the UK retailing and leisure business, where he has been Head of Equality and Diversity for the past five years. Prior to that he was Head of Equal Opportunities at BBC Television from 1990 to 1995 and also spent 12 years with the Commission for Racial Equality, the UK race relations agency.

Surinder Sharma is a Commissioner for the Equal Opportunities Commission in the UK and is an adviser to the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Work/Life Balance at the UK Department for Education and Employment. He is 47 years old, married with two children and holds a BA in Law from the University of Kent.
