UK engine production was down 13.6% in September according to data released by the SMMT.
The SMMT said the decline was explained by a number of facilities undergoing re-tooling efforts for new products.

Output has also fallen 5.0% over the year-to-date, but percentage exported has increased.
The SMMT said that significant investment is being made into low-emissions engine manufacturing in the UK, “ensuring a positive outlook for the sector”.
Last week, Ford announced further investment at its Dagenham engine manufacturing facility.
