The company will display two ‘Sportive’ concepts at this year’s commercial vehicle show in Birmingham, which opens on April 24.

The Luton-based automaker said the concepts “build on Vauxhall’s reputation for building vans that love the roads as much as their loads”.

Both are finished in bright silver. The Sportive variant of the new Corsavan has a 1.3-litre 90PS common-rail diesel engine – an increase of 15PS over the standard engine – with six-speed manual gearbox for added driver appeal.

The concept has a body styling pack, which includes body-coloured side mouldings, front fog lights and 15-inch alloy wheels. Other features over and above the standard Corsavan specification include heated, body-coloured door mirrors, air conditioning, electric windows and sports seats.

The Astravan Sportive SE Concept also has an exterior styling pack with low-slung front bumper and built-in fog lights, deep side skirts and a rear roof spoiler, silver roof rails and 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The concept has a 150PS version of the standard Astravan’s 1.9-litre CDTi diesel engine.

Vauxhall insists there are no firm plans to put either concept into production, but said it would show the vans to gauge potential buyers’ opinions.

“If they’re well-received, [they] could well point the way towards flagship driver’s vans of the future,” the company said.
