Cooper Tire has launched a new tyre for small and medium sized family cars, which it says yields a reduction in road noise and a longer lifespan than its predecessor.
It says the Cooper Zeon CS2 benefits from the latest “pitch sequencing technology,” which enables Cooper to produce tyres that cause less energy to be wasted through surface noise, while still maintaining a strong hold on the road.
A broad outer shoulder enhances the tyre provides strong handling in the dry, while deep grooves enhance safety by ensuring that drivers are less likely to aquaplane in the wet, Cooper claims.
Advances in technology also mean that the CS2 will last longer than previous models, while improvements in production ensure that this is one of the new wave of “greener tyres” made using more environmentally-friendly methods, the company says.
Available from December, the CS2 has fitments between 13 and 15-inch diameters for a wide range of small to medium sized family cars, such as the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Citroen C4 and BMW 3 Series.
