Tenneco has also acquired the licence from Clean Diesel for mobile retrofit emission control applications in on-and off-road vehicles, and for other markets including railroad and marine, Clean Diesel said.
Tenneco has entered into the agreements as a result of its recent acquisition of the mobile emissions business of Combustion Components Associates (CCA). Specifiically the licence covers mobile applications for Clean Diesel’s Aris airless reagent injection system and technology, which controls nitrogen oxides emissions through selective catalytic reduction (SCR), and the related suite of Clean Diesel patents. This includes an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technique used in combination with SCR to minimise emissions while simultaneously improving fuel efficiency.
The licences also include applications for hydrocarbon injection for lean NOx traps and for other NOx adsorbers and catalysts, as well as for diesel particulate filter regeneration.
