The sales target is just 50 in 2006 and up to 100 a year thereafter.
The TD 2000 combines 1950s design with more modern technology such as a 130hp two-litre Toyota DOHC engine, five-speed gearbox, low profile tyres and disc brakes all round.
The car is hand-crafted in a small factory on the outskirts of the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and retails in the UK from GBP23,499 depending on specification.
Its origins can be traced back to when Jaguar dealer Ross Marshall bought the original MG TD tooling which had found its way to the USA.
