Chrysler is launching a revised 2005 model year Voyager minivan in Europe with a new look, a diesel engine with automatic transmission and increased safety equipment but there’s no sign of the Stow ‘n Go fold flat centre and rear row seating system optional on the equivalent Town and Country model line in the US.

“We’re not getting it yet but we hope to have it next year,” a Chrysler UK spokeswoman told just-auto. “It’s a feature we’d like but they’re keeping it in the US for now. We understand it’s something to do with European homologation but we hope to get it eventually.”
The spokeswoman said Chrysler UK was very pleased it could now offer a 2.8 litre common rail diesel engine (the same Italian-made VM unit offered in European Jeep Cherokee [Liberty] models) coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission as well as the carry-over 2.5 CRD manual models.
All existing trim levels will be priced at the same level as the 2004 model year in the UK though the updated 2005 Voyagers include three-row supplemental side curtain airbags.
As in the US, there is a detail restyle with new front fascia, grille and quad projector headlamps, new bodyside mouldings, new wheel covers and alloy wheels while noise, vibration and harshness (NVH): has been reduced by a claimed 16%, compared to the 2004 model.

For the 2005 model year, Chrysler offers three versions of the extended-wheelbase Grand Voyager in Europe – the LX, Limited and Limited XS. Two versions of its standard-wheelbase Voyager are available – the SE and LX.
The SE will be available with the 2.4 litre petrol and the 2.5 CRD diesel engines with manual transmission only. The 3.3 litre V6 engine and the new 2.8 CRD engine and transmission will be available on all LX, Limited and Limited XS models.
