Car manufacturing rose 1.3% in the UK in July to 98,094 units, with 81,960, up 15.9%, exported.
Year to date volume rose 3.7% to 760,946. Exports were up 19% to 632,045.

CV production was down 5.9% to 9,127 in July and off 5.1% to 70,547 year so far.
July engine output slipped 0.4% to 183,513 but was up 4% for the year to date to 1,512,543.
“Economic growth remains fragile but thanks to a strong export market, automotive manufacturing continues to outperform the broader economy,” said SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt.
