Volkswagen’s new chief executive officer Bernd Pischetsrieder has reportedly said any overlap with the Audi, Seat and Lamborghini brands will be gone by the end of 2003, according to Bloomberg News.

VW plans a clear distinction between the cars, though there will be similarly priced and sized models, Pischetsrieder told Bloomberg.


“In 18 months time, in terms of packaging and architecture, there will be no crossover,” he said. “It will be enough to tell your neighbour that you drive an Audi for him to know it’s a premium brand.”
