The manufacturer wants to boost its current premium market share of 20% globally, and make a dent in the sales of Toyota’s luxury Lexus range in the US.
BMW UK corporate communications manager Mark Harrison told just-auto: “BMW is the leading premium manufacturer in the UK and looking to sell more, we are also investing heavily in China and in India, and looking to grow in the US.
“We have got more product launches in the next two or three years and consider it important to get the dealers really focused on providing a premium service and used car service, which is a good foundation for new car sales.”
Planned new product roll-outs include coupe and convertible 3-series models and the redesigned X5 luxury SUV, which is made in the US.
