The United Kingdom’s Customs and Excise department has cut 20 pence off biodiesel duty. The new duty rate is 25.82 pence per litre for biodiesel used as road fuel. The Treasury said the new rate was set at 20p per litre below the rate for ultra-low sulphur diesel because of the extra production costs faced by biodiesel producers.
