Volkswagen group’s Bentley reported 2014 sales grew 9% to a record 11,020 cars.       

The key regions of the Americas, China, Europe including the UK, and Middle East, all saw strong performance, with the Americas retaining its position as the top market while China closed the gap as the second largest.

The automaker launched the Continental GT V8 S, GT Speed coupe and convertible and the Flying Spur V8 last year.

Americas sales were 3,186 cars, up 3,140 in 2013, accounting for 29% of total global deliveries.       

China sales rose to 2,670 from 2,191.                                           

European deliveries rose 4% to 1,539 with 1,387 of those in the UK alone.

Middle East sales rose 7% to 1,263. 

Asia Pacific deliveries rose 48% to 669 and Japan saw growth of 5% to 306.

Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said: “We now operate in more markets than at any point in our 96 year history, a perfect example of our truly international appeal.      

“We embark on a milestone year for the company, in which we are working to deliver the world’s first luxury SUV.”
