Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has appointed former Audi UK chief Jeremy Hicks managing director, Jaguar Land Rover UK.

Hicks’ appointment brings the UK sales and marketing unit into line with those in other countries and places each region under the control of a single, dual brand, managing director, JLR said. Hicks, who started on 1 November, reports to Phil Popham, director, group sales operations.

Hicka has extensive autoe marketing and sales experience and a number of senior positions in the industry on his CV. He started with GM Europe’s Vauxhall unit in the UK, holding posts including sales operations director and aftersales sales and marketing director.

He later spent a short time as an auto industry consultant before joining VW Group UK where he held a number of senior roles, most recently Audi managing director since 2005.

Hicks said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to lead two iconic brands in their home market. Both Jaguar and Land Rover have their strongest ever product line up and I am very much looking forward to working with the JLR team to achieve continued success in the UK market.”

Meanwhile, former Jaguar managing director Geoff Cousins is now director of the brand’s global sponsorships and partnerships. This new role includes the Jaguar ‘Academy of Sport’ concept developed while he was MD.

Colin Green, previously managing director, Land Rover UK, is now director, global dealer operations responsible for long range retail strategy, dealer growth and development and ‘internationalisation’ of distribution, dealer capability and global sales programmes.
