Turkey’s Automotive Industry Association (OSD) has reported a surge in vehicle production during the first four months of the year.
The rise is underpinned by increased production for export – especially to the EU.

Vehicle output in April was 89,817 units, 18.9% up on last year. In the first four months of the year vehicle production reached 347,436 units, 59% ahead of the same period last year. Passenger car production in the first four months was 43.4% up on last year to stand at 200,389 units.
Vehicle exports in the first four months reached 264,307 units – 58.6% ahead of last year’s pace.
However, production for the domestic market is growing less strongly. The Turkish car market reached 103,752 units in the first four months – slightly down on last year.
