Passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales increased 50% overall in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period a year ago, to 173,248 units.
Sales of cars rose 42.13% in the January-March period to 126,991, with a 63% increase in March to 61,676 units. LCV sales of 46,257 represented a rise of 78% over last year in the first quarter and March proved a boom month with sales increasing 121% in the sector to 21,626.

Fuelling the increase in passenger car sales was models below 1600cc, rising 43% in the first three-months.
