Renault-Nissan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey to establish electric vehicles.

The programme will cover the deployment in Gaziantep municipality of a charging network for electric vehicles which will be launched in 2011 and the lease of 50 EVs.

This is the third MoU signed by the Alliance in Turkey, following deals inked with Istanbul Enerji, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Renault-Nissan said the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality wanted to lease the 50 electric Renault vehicles in its fleet as soon as they become avaialble in the Turkish market.
