New car sales in Turkey this year are expected to be somewhere between 820,000 and 860,000 according to forecasts by the automotive distributors’ association. Last year, new cars sales totalled 778,000, a fall of 10% on 2011.
But the association’s general secretary Hayri Erce said that sales could fall again next year. This year’s growth was coming from consumers bringing purchases forward as companies kept price rises to a minimum, he said.
