Year to date production was up 36.1% to 595,795 units with cars up 24.2% to 316,889.


Sales of both domestic and imported vehicles rose 0.7% in May to 51,637 units with cars up 8.3% to 31,477. Year to date sales were up 16.2% to 231,342 with cars up 24.5% to 135,721.


May exports rose 19.5% to 94,663 with car shipments flat at 51,116. In the first five months, exports were up 38.7% to 463,008 with cars up 23.8% to 255,405.
