Toyota Motor aims to have all its domestic plants operational by the end of this week following supply chain disruption caused by the strong earthquakes in Kumamoto and Oita prefectures last month.
Production was halted at most of Toyota’s factories last month following damage to production facilities at key component suppliers, including semiconductor, sunroof and door parts plants owned by Toyota affiliate Aisin Seiki.

Production at other Japanese automakers, including Honda Motor, was also affected by the earthquake.
Aisin Seiki said it would temporarily shift supply to other domestic and overseas plants in its network until full production was restored.
Toyota confirmed all 30 of its domestic auto assembly lines will be operational by Thursday 6 May with production restarting on eight lines in five plants. These include Miyata in Fukuoka Prefecture, managed by Toyota Motor Kyushu, and others in Aichi, Gifu and Mie prefectures.
