THAILAND: VW plans to step up local presence – report
The Bangkok Post reports that speculation is mounting that Volkswagen Group is planning to step up its presence in Thailand. A new company may be formed to handle distribution, sales and marketing, as well as fund the production of new models to be assembled in Thailand. The report adds that the carmaker may strengthen its relationship with the Yontrakit Group (with whom it has a sales and marketing agreement) and/or form a new joint venture.
