Visteon Electronics has officially opened a new automotive electronics factory in Rayong, Thailand.
Visteon Automotive Electronics (Thailand) supplies instrument clusters, audio products and multi-function displays to local Ford, Mazda, Nissan and Honda vehicle assembly plants, including electronic clusters for motorcycles. The 4,700sq meter (50,600sq ft) site, with provisions for future expansion, on the Hemaraj Industrial Estate consolidates Visteon Electronics’ manufacturing in Thailand and employs approximately 190 people.

“The new Rayong facility is a key contributor to Visteon Electronics’ continued expansion and growth with vehicle manufacturers in Southeast Asia,” said Steve Meszaros, president, Visteon Electronics. “Visteon has extensive local capability in the region which is one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.”
The plant incorporates a class 100k clean room with conductive floors, an injection moulding shop, a durability test lab and metrology lab, among other facilities.
The new Rayong plant strengthens the supplier’s presence in southeast Asia which includes factories in Chennai, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia; and engineering, software, design and development centres in Chennai and Pune, India. The Rayong plant was iestablished in 1998 as a combined interiors and electronics factory.
Visteon said it was “well-positioned to support the rapid growth in cockpit electronics content in both passenger vehicles and two wheelers in the region”.
