Thai replacement tyre manufacturer Deestone Ltd opened its fifth tyre plant this month, in Kamphaeng Saen in Thailand’s Nakhon Pathom province, in response to rising demand for tyres in its home market and abroad.
The company has invested THB3.5bn (US$107m) in a new 1m units/year truck tyre facility operated by its subsidiary Siam Truck Radial. Production in the first year of operation is expected to be around 300,000 units. The facility is expected to employ 1,000 workers at full capacity.

Deestone Group currently exports 60% of its output to markets in Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle-East. It aims to raise this ratio to 70% by 2016.
