The sixth of an eventual nine plants building the Nissan X-Trail (Rogue) has just come on line in Thailand ahead of the car’s local debut. This will be at the local Motor Expo later this month.
The latest X-Trail made its international debut at the 2013 Frankfurt IAA, with its North American markets twin, the Rogue, announced simultaneously. This SUV would eventually be made in nine plants, Nissan stated at the time. Since then, production has got underway at Kyushu (Japan) Smyrna (US), Huadu (China), Dalian (China) and Busan (South Korea), with build at St Petersburg (Russia) due to be added in 2015.

A line which builds passenger cars has been modified at one of Nissan Motor’s Bangna Trad factories near Bangkok. The Thai market model is to be available with 2.0- and 2.5-litre petrol engines, with local sales of 8,000 units/annum envisaged.
