Thai vehicle sales fell by 10.2% to 55,851 units in May, from 62,205 units a year earlier, according to data released by Toyota Motor Thailand.

The decline reflects a shortage of inventory, with imports of key OE equipment from Japan affected by the earthquake and tsunamis in March. Thai consumer confidence has strengthened, helped by election spending and high levels of tourist arrivals.
