Forecasts for vehicle sales this year are being revised up after strong sales in the first four months of the year according to The Bangkok Post. The newspaper says that vehicle sales in the first four months reached 116,638 units – 34% up on the same period of last year.

The market is on track to reach the recently revised manufacturers’ forecast of 350,000 units for the year.
The report says that in April the market was boosted by sales in the pick-up segment, which is seeing aggressive marketing campaigns and promotions offered by market leaders Isuzu and Toyota. Pick-up sales increased by 37% in the first four months at 68,156 units, while passenger car registrations were up 23% at 35,202 units.
In the premium car segment BMW was ahead of Mercedes-Benz in the first four months. BMW sales totalled 1,261 units.
