A huge fire has destroyed six automotive tyre warehouses belonging to Shandong Linglong Tyre in the Rayong Hemaraj Industrial Estate in Thailand’s Chonburi province.
Around 200 employees working in the complex escaped without serious injury before 50 fire trucks arrived to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is being investigated but is thought to have been sparked by an electrical short circuit.

The THB 3.5bn (US$107m) complex, which included 15 warehouses and a factory with a capacity of 2m car tyres per year, began operating less than a year ago.
Shanglong Ling Long was planning to expand the facility to 10m units a year in the next few years.
The company has been ordered to close the factory temporarily as a safety precaution although it is not thought to have been damaged by the fire.
