The newspaper says that ASEAN ministers are scheduled to meet with the head of China’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC).


There are reportedly some differences within ASEAN member countries on timing preferences for freer trade with China.


The newspaper report says that Thailand and Singapore had expected to see tariff cuts between ASEAN and China reach the lowest level by 2010, while several original ASEAN members, such as Indonesia, hoped to see 2012 as the final year.
