Mitsubishi Motors said on Thursday (10 November) it would restart production at its Laem Chabang Plant in Thailand from Monday, 14 November.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (MMC’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Thailand)’s Laem Chabang Plant was not damaged by the recent flooding in parts of Thailand to the north of the factory. However, MMC decided to halt production there from the night shift of 13 October – limited production continued until 19 October – because of parts supply difficulties caused by the flooding.

“MMC has begun to see a gradual improvement in its parts procurement situation; enough so that parts needed for its models produced at the Laem Chabang Plant are now available again. This led MMC to decide to restart production at the plant,” the automaker said.

“More time will be necessary for MMC’s supply chain to recover completely due to the devastating impact of the massive flooding on suppliers in Thailand. However, MMC and its partners together will continue to put their best efforts towards resuming normal production levels at the Laem Chabang plant.”
