New vehicle sales in Taiwan rose slightly in December, by 0.1% to 41,821 units, according to data released by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
Full year sales were down by 0.7% at 420,780 units in 2015, according to the ministry. Sales of imported vehicles rose by almost 14% to 154,685 units, however.

Toyota and Lexus distributor Ho Tai Motor led the market last year, with 15,013 sales in December and 132,419 in the full year; followed by Mitsubishi distributor China Motor with 4,114 and 43,416 units respectively; Yulon Nisan 3,348 and 42,134 units; Honda 3,109 and 27,639 units; Ford 2,202 and 21,942 units; and Mercedes-Benz 2,023 and 21,542 units.
