Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) says it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Motors Corp (CMC), MMC’s business partner in Taiwan , Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and the Hsinchu County government in North-West Taiwan for electric vehicle promotion.
 
The Hsinchu County government will introduce i-MiEVs at Taiwan High Speed Rail line’s Hsinchu Station as a taxi. It will analyse demand and marketability throughout its operation to verify more specifics for EV popularisation, such as tax incentives and charging infrastructure installation.

“The Hsinchu government [is] dedicated in implementing advanced technologies and is proactive about making a low-carbon society possible,” said MMC president Osamu Masuko.

After its launch in Japan, the i-MiEV has been sequentially rolled out internationally to Hong Kong, Australia, Costa Rica, Chile, 19 countries throughout Europe and also is planned for roll-out in the US and Canada this autumn.

In addition. MMC is co-operating with other governments such as Monaco, Iceland, Denmark, Singapore and Thailand.
