The reports indicate that a prospective foreign partner has already been lined up for the joint venture between GOEI, Syrian investors and a ‘well-known foreign company’.
It is also reported that several carmakers – including GM and DaimlerChrysler – have tried to establish carmaking ventures in Syria before, but without success.
