Renault chairman Louis Schweitzer said at the Geneva motor show on Tuesday that Renault is negotiating a project to make the Kangoo light commercial vehicle in China, according to a Reuters report.

The Renault Kangoo is a light utility vehicle available in Europe as an enclosed light van for light goods distribution and a budget MPV or window van designed for carrying passengers. The window van version retails at a price well below Renault’s Scenic.
The report says that the manufacturer is in talks with a Chinese company called Huachen and that the move follows the breakdown of negotiations to build the Scenic compact MPV in the Beijing area.
